Unborn baby makes first appearance on Thermal Camera
Our popular exhibit, the Thermal Camera, was introduced to Camera Obscura in 2009 and has fascinated and entertained many of our visitors, allowing them to see a visual of their body’s hot spots. One such visitor is 19-year-old Rae Ward, who lives in Northumberland with her partner and recently visited us during a trip to Edinburgh. Rae was just over seven months pregnant when she was pleasantly surprised to see a distinct silhouette of her baby boy through thermal camera imaging.
Rae shared her experience on TikTok, and it quickly went viral, leaving viewers amazed by what they saw. See video here.
Rae spoke of her experience; “the thermal camera experience was adorable and made me so happy, especially as I'm quite an anxious person who worries about my little one. Given the limited scans you have, I always wonder what he's up to and if he's doing okay. Seeing him made my day so much better and made the trip more fun. The staff were lovely, and the attractions were very cool!”
