The team at Camera Obscura & World of Illusions are celebrating, having received VisitScotland’s top accolade of five-star visitor attraction status for the 10th year in a row.
Edinburgh’s oldest purpose built visitor attraction, established 1835, prides itself on being one of the city’s most loved attractions, offering guests a unique, fun and hands-on day out with outstanding levels of customer service from its highly trained team. Exceptional standards of service were recognised throughout the attraction by VisitScotland, who praised the team on their clear enthusiasm for the attraction.
This year VisitScotland relaunched their Quality Assurance grading scheme, which has an increased emphasis on customer service, with more scoring elements concerning Hospitality & Friendliness and Service & Efficiency. This focus on visitors’ needs and expectations has made the achievement of a five-star award much harder to obtain. Camera Obscura & World of Illusions excelled during the grading process, leading to their 10th year of achieving the top award.
Assistant General Manager Tony Millar said ‘We’re over the moon to have been awarded the five-star visitor attraction award for the 10th year in a row. It’s a testament to our team’s focus on customer needs and their approach to welcoming all our visitors, which has made this achievement possible. As one of the top visitor attractions in Edinburgh, we have a responsibility for giving all guests to the city an amazing and memorable visit, and this award recognises all of our effort and hard work.’
Camera Obscura & World of Illusions is ranked as one of Edinburgh’s top attractions on TripAdvisor, sitting at number 5 on the top things to do list. With nearly 7,500 five-star, or excellent, reviews, it has been ranked at the top thanks to visitors’ own experiences.
