Why we celebrate

Pride Month is a time to acknowledge acceptance and the achievements of LGBTQ+ individuals. It's also an opportunity to educate ourselves about LGBTQ+ history and shine a light on the ongoing issues facing the community today.

Whilst progress has been made, Pride Month reminds us to challenge any stigma, stand up against injustice and call for a more inclusive society.

Pride is about embracing and celebrating who you are. That's why every June, we proudly fly the Pride flag from our Rooftop Terrace!

Our General Manager, Andrew, says, "We are incredibly happy to be celebrating Pride Month and to be remembering the importance of the Stonewall riots 52 years on. At Camera Obscura, we offer a fully inclusive and supportive workplace and are proud to welcome both staff and visitors from across the LGBTQ+ spectrum, who are free to be themselves."

Who we are supporting

This year, we're proud to be supporting Mermaids UK, a leading charity that has been helping transgender, non-binary and gender-questioning young people - as well as their families.

Mermaids offer helplines, online communities, youth groups and educational resources, helping young people feel safe and valued.

Our visitors can make a donation by scanning the QR code available at our Gift Shop.
